NCSY SUMMER TJJ BUS 11: Day 21-22 Our Patriarchs, Zipline, and Some Fun

Dear NCSY SUMMER TJJ BUS 11 Parents,

Thursday and Friday were days where the teens were able to appreciate the roots and have someone fun as well.

First, we went to the city of Hebron where we able to see firsthand what is going on in cities like Hebron with the Palestinian people and also visit the resting place of our Patriarchs.  It was very moving for the teens to pray by the tombs of Abraham, Sarah, Jacob and Leah.  Some of the staff had never been before this time so it was quite meaningful and emotional.

The teens also had the opportunity to be educated about ten wya freedom of religion has been practiced in Hebron only since the Jews took over the cave in 1967 whereas prior to that date Jews weren’t allowed at all to pray at the holy site.

Afterwards the whole crew went on the longest Zipline in the the Middle East. Lots of fun.  From there we learned about the difficulties in capturing the Gush Etzion block and the history behind it.

Friday was chilled and relaxed as they enjoined some thought provoking films, a little water hike and a stroll in Machane Yehuda.

Friday night we prayed on the roof top of Aish Hatorah overlooking the Kotel. We joined 4 other buses for dinner and it was really special!
