Dear NCSY SUMMER TJJ BUS 11 Parents,
On Tuesday, we had a lot of fun exploring and experiencing the Golan Heights.
We began the morning very early to hike through the magnificent Zevitan stream and ridge. We brought a professional lifeguard with us to oversee the teens swimming in one of the beautiful pools along the hike. The teens plunged in and really loved the water.
After the hike we got a chance to learn about the israeli innovation in the olive industry in the Golan. We even had a chance to cover our faces and hands with olive residue and learn how it helps our skin. After tasting some delicious olive oil, the teens enjoyed ice cream before we headed to lunch. Following lunch the teens had a toe-in activity.
We then went back to the Hotel for an afternoon rest before we headed out again in the evening to the ancient city of Katzrin. In Katzrin, we heard from Rabbi Lawrence Hajioff, a well known educator, while sitting in a synagogue over 1000 years old. We continued to have a bonfire with marshmallows, singing and dancing.
