Dear JSU TJJ Bus 11 Parents,
What an incredible first week on TJJ!! Our first Shabbat in the Holy Land saw the bus come together for an inspiring and uplifting 25 hours. The moment Shabbat finished we were already thinking about the next Shabbat as we all sang our new favorite song “six more days till Shabbos..”
We started this week with an amazing hike which led into rafting the Jordan river. After that the students got to go to the famous De Karina chocolate factory! On Wednesday we went to an amazing water park called “Aqua Kef” and then danced away on a boat cruise through the Kinneret. Yesterday saw us come together for a moment of reflection as we went to the Acco prison to see the room where ten Jews were hung and executed because of who they were and what they tried to do- Jews who fought for the right to their country- our homeland. We cried together and sang Hatikva as we reflected on how we have to live for what those ten Jews gave their lives for- the ability to live as a proud Jew peacefully in our homeland.
Today we are finishing our week in the beautiful holy city of Tzfat. It’s truly amazing how much we have grown and accomplished in just one week. I can’t wait to continue this amazing and inspiring journey with the Bus 11 family.
