TJJ Bus 11
Western Wall and Yom NCSY!

Dear JSU TJJ Bus 11 Parents,

It’s amazing how time has flown by so quickly. When we come back from the free weekend, we will only have one week left ): I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun – especially on Bus 11!

While we had a jam packed week of fun and inspiration, I want to point out two specific events that happened this past week which made an indelible impact on our bus. On Sunday, we visited the Western Wall for the first time. While I have taken many groups to the Kotel, I have never encountered what I witnessed with Bus 11. When the students approached the wall, there was a moment of complete oneness and unity as everyone embraced and cried. There was a realization that we had made it to the place where for thousands of years Jews have come to pour out their hearts, a place where the Jewish people have always come together to connect to our essence- our soul. It was truly special to be a part of such an event and to see how the students and staff connected in such a real way to those two aforementioned ideas.

The second event was Yom NCSY- an evening where all the different NCSY/JSU summer trips come together to celebrate the spirit of our Jewish youth with singing, dancing and of course – lots of food! We danced the night away with over 2,500 people, leaving with a newfound sense of pride and inspiration.

Yesterday, when we got to our drop off points for the free weekend, many of the staff and students didn’t want to leave. I wasn’t surprised considering how far we have come and how much we have grown together. I’m sure these two days will go by just as quickly as the first two weeks and before we know it we will be back together on Sunday!

Shabbat Shalom from Bus 11!
